Soviet Control Panel

Driver's compartment of an ostensibly Arab T-72 tank. The engine starter panel can be seen to the left near the control stick.

The panel in question, imported into the US after the Cold War as a training aid.

Made for an unfinished video project; this panel was modeled for the interior scenes of a T-80 tank, notably from the driver’s compartment. Due to the difficulties in obtaining proper references, it was decided to instead base the panel on the more popular and heavily produced T-72 series of tanks. Heavily used by the former Soviet Union, and later the Russian Army; it was also heavily exported/licensed to Eastern Europe, the Balkan states, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. The tank itself remains the quintessential “bad guy” tank in popular media.

Model was made and unwrapped in Blender, and textured in Adobe Substance Painter.
